Outside
Sometimes as I’m sitting in my room I feel this wave of unease. I go out in the balcony to get some air. I see a small pond, green grass, squirrels running around, and birds chirping. Squirrels and birds always look happy, carefree, unbothered by what is going on in the world. They simply go about their days as usual.
Nature is a happy place. Outside is freer than inside. While we are bound within the walls of our homes, that small space in our backyard or any open space in proximity from where we can see the sky gives a sense of relief. As of lately, I have been enjoying the sunset a lot and taking evening walks more often than I used to.
As the sun starts to go down, one side of the sky turns fiery yellow while the opposite side radiates with clouds in a light pink hue. The pink sky reflects on the small pond I see from my balcony. That beautiful, spontaneous moment is what I look forward to every day.
This year spring did not show up quite vividly. It felt like we jumped from winter to summer directly. Finally, now the trees are turning green. Cherry blossoms are turning the neighborhood into a dreamy land. Dandelions colored the ground with scattered dots of yellow. And, now those dandelions have turned into fluffy light cotton. Yesterday, while on a walk I came across a meadow with those fluffy dandelions. As the setting sun shed light on them it looked extraordinarily serene, somewhere different, far away from all the troubles and worries. Only bliss.
