Lettuce Wrap: Taco on a leaf

0

A crunchy, delicious, and healthy meal! This lettuce wrap is super easy to make, just using your pantry staples and some fresh vegetables. You can also use the meat of your choice but for this recipe, I’m using black beans. This is for two servings.

Ingredients:
Green leaf lettuce: A bunch
Black beans: 1 can
Cumin powder: ½ tbsp
Chili powder: as desired
Green Onion: ¼ cup
Cilantro: ¼ cup
Onion: ½ cup
Paprika: ½  tsp
Salt: as desired
Tomato: 1
Lime: 1

Clean the lettuce leaves thoroughly with water. I washed each leaf individually and cut the end of the stalk which is usually hard and tends to have dirt. Place the leaves on a plate and prepare the filling. Chop onion, tomatoes, green onions, and cilantro. Heat a pan and add 2 tbsp of oil. Save half of the chopped tomato for later. Then, add onion and tomato into the pan. Add in the cumin powder, paprika, chili powder, and salt. Sautéed them until you get a nice aroma of spices. Add black beans directly from the can. Drain a little first so you don’t have access liquid in the pan. Cook it for about 2 min. Transfer the bean to a bowl and mix in cilantro, green onion, and tomato.

Now, all you got to do is put the beans in the leaf, wrap it, and enjoy the meal. Don’t forget to squeeze some lime in it!
